Main goal: Protection of rare and threatened bird species and natural habitats through conservation and restoration measures and reduction of threats within Pomorie Lake complex of protected natural areas.
Specific objectives:
- Implementing urgent measures for restoration of habitats of rare and protected colonially breeding waterfowl species;
- Securing protection of priority coastal and halophyte habitats and coastal sand dunes through reduction of negative anthropogenic impact;
- Providing support for the conservation and management of the biological diversity of Pomorie Lake complex of protected natural areas through improvement of information and visitor’s infrastructure and provision of equipment and furniture for Pomorie Lake Visitor’s Center;
- Raising the awareness among stakeholders and the general public concerning the wetland, the Project, OP Environment, and the EC contribution.

Sandwich Tern (Sterna sandvicensis), Little Tern (Sterna albifrons), Common Tern (Sterna hirundo), Little Ringed Plover (Charadrius dubius), Kentish Plover (Charadrius alexandrinus), Avocet (Recurvirostra avosetta), Mediterranean Gull (Larus melanocephalus)
Other priority waterfowl species(migrating and wintering) listed in Annex 3 of the Biological Diversity Act and subject to protection under Directive 79/409.
