How to help
If you want to help us:
• Tell us for dead domestic animals, which can be used as supplementary food for the vultures;

• Inform us if you come across violations (shooting) or find wounded or dead Griffon Vultures or other large birds of prey!

• Do not disturb Griffon Vultures in the wild;

• Do not disturb the birds kept in the aviaries and on the supplementary feeding sites!

• Do not use poisonous bites and alert us if you know that somewhere such have been used!

• Call us if you see a Griffon Vulture and make sure if it has been marked! Please collect the following data:

- Characteristic features of the vulture – presence/absence of wing-tags, transmitter, metal of plastic colour rings, etc.;
- Where and when exactly did you observe the bird;
- What was the behavior of the bird (in flight, perched, foraging, etc.);

• Call us, if you find a vulture in distress and in need of help!

- In all cases immediately contact the team of the Wildlife Rescue Centre to get further instructions on: +359 42 627741, +359 885228486 or call one of the local coordinators.
- Be careful! Wild birds can be dangerous! Keep in mind vultures have an extraordinary strong beak, used for crashing bones and tearing off muscles and joints!
- If the condition of the bird requires you to take care of it until its transport to the Wildlife Rescue Centre, please ensure that the bird is placed in a quiet, calm and dark place to limit stress;
- If you notice a broken limb or bleeding wound, please wait for the instructions from the experts of the Rescue Centre.

• Get involved in the various Griffon Vulture conservation activities!

- Supplementary feeding of the Griffon Vultures on the special feeding sites;
- Monitoring and radio-telemetry of the released birds;
- Installing of artificial nests and dummies for attracting of nesting vultures;
- Increasing the awareness and motivation of the local people for getting involved in vulture conservation through meetings, demonstrations and presentations;
- Organizing and implementing a Griffon Vulture or Transhumance Festivals.
