[06-10-2023] Bat Night in Plovdiv

At the end of September (29th), the annual Bat Night was held in Plovdiv. The organizers from Green Balkans were joined by RIEW Plovdiv, in the person of Miloslava Mihailova, PR of RIEW Plovdiv, as well as Speleo Club "Paldin" and Regional Natural History Museum - Plovdiv.

A series of events were organized by the Rila National Park Directorate in Blagoevgrad and Samokov. “Wildlife” exhibition of three-dimensional models of the Green Balkans was also presented in the information centers of the park in Blagoevgrad and Samokov.

[17-10-2022] Bat Night in the Town of Vratsa

The celebration of the International Bat Night, organized by the Vrachanski Balkan Nature Park Directorate on October 13th, was held with great interest. More than 50 students from “Kozma Trichkov” Secondary School, “Otets Paisii” Secondary School and “Hristo Botev” Secondary School, Vratsa took an active part in the initiative.

The time has come for the bats “to land” in the courtyard of “Geo Milev” House-Museum in the town of Stara Zagora. We marked the event with a varied program of artistic workshops, exhibitions with curious facts and photos of bats that are found in Bulgaria, and for the older guests there was a film and an interesting presentation about bats.

We have the Bat Month 2022 ahead, join us! First celebrated over 25 years ago, today the European Bat Night is organized in over 30 countries, including Bulgaria. In 2012, the event was joined by the United States, the Philippines, Azerbaijan, Israel, Tunisia, Ukraine, and Lebanon. With this, the Bat Night has become an international event that surpasses the boundaries of the "Old Continent" and aims to introduce more people to the unique way of life and the significant importance of one of the most interesting creatures on the planet - bats. While Western countries usually celebrate Bat Night on the last weekend of August, in Bulgaria, we are still on vacation, so we wait for the students to start school, and after September 15, the information campaign - Bat Night begins.

[03-11-2021] Bat Night celebrated in Valchedram

Celebrating Bat Night on 31th of October the children from “Happy childhood” kindergarten in the village of Dolni Cibar, together with their teachers, organized by Personal Development Support Center – Municipal Children’s Complex in Valchedram made bat masks and took pictures with them. This was the occasion for another holiday to be celebrated as well – Halloween. Information materials were provided by Green Balkans.
